Modern, air-conditioned, low-floor and environmentally friendly buses will be available from the second half of 2025 – budapest.hu informed our portal.
BKK’s primary goal is to provide a high-quality public transport service, which is why it launched a total of six public procurement procedures for the operation of public bus routes. In the case of successful procedures, the new agreements will replace the service contracts with the 240 buses that have been in service since 2015, currently performed by ArrivaBus Kft., and scheduled to expire in 2025. The contract just concluded is about putting 50 articulated buses into service.
The vehicles scheduled to be put into service from the second half of next year meet environmental protection requirements (Euro 6e diesel classification), with their barrier-free design, they meet the needs of older passengers, people with reduced mobility or those traveling with prams, and also have features and equipment (spacious seats, air conditioning, on-board cameras , modern passenger information system, large monitors), which increase the comfort and safety of passengers.
