All three pieces of the monumental Christ Trilogy by 19th century painter Mihaly Munkacsy will be on display again in the Deri Museum in Debrecen as of Friday, leaders of the city and the museum have announced.
Istvan Puskas, Debrecen’s deputy mayor in charge of culture, told a press conference that the trilogy’s Golgotha had been taken to Budapest last autumn to be shown at a comprehensive exhibition in the Fine Arts Museum.
The piece will arrive in Debrecen on Wednesday and will be lifted to its place in the museum with a crane, Janos Angi, the museum’s director said.
